Tziz - Kinitiras
This structure is the performance environment for the theatrical play "Tziz" at 2008. The project was commissioned to zound systems studio were i worked for the completion of this project. It was designed by zound systems to be demountable and transportable since it was manufactured at syros and due to be delived to Athens. So the whole structure was devided into folding sections that are bolted on site to form the structure.
+Joint
+Joint is a modular desk system designed for dromeas furniture competition 2007. The system is composed of a list of elements that join together to satisfy different needs and to adapt to various work environments. It provides flexibility, ease of assembly and disassembly and offers some built - in features, such as retractable lighting unit, shelves and seperators as well as cord and power supply support. It is designed to adress different modern office needs and to support the user while at work offering a spacious working surface by restraining functional features to the sides of the desk.
GhostLamp
The Ghost lamp is a paper made indoor light that aims to provide ambience to any room making it more hospitable and cozy. The design uses low energy bulb and it consists of a bulb base and a custom cut piece of paper held in place by metal clips. It's inexpensive, affordable, energy efficient and fun. The project was designed for We design studio during my internship (2008). Team project.
UrchinLamp
The Urchin Lamp is a prototype of a project worked during my internship at We design studio. It aims to be extremeley low cost being made entirely out of one sheet (50x70 cm) of recycled cardboard. It produces a very warm and cozy effect by letting light out of the cardboard's structure. Thus when it's off it feels like an opaque and monolithic form, but when on it comes to life by adding ambient light to a room. The concept was to create an organic form out of laser cut cardboard profiles glued together. Its elipsoid shape gradualy decreasing in size helps to reduce the material used by fitting one profile to another.
Athens Bench
This is my participation at the athens bench mark international competition for the next Athens bench. The design is composed of two basic elements: a metal profile that acts as the load bearing structure, and the wooden planks tha act as the seat. The idea was to design the metal profile in a way that gives the impression that the seat is floating above the ground. Also by bolting the profiles at the middle of the planks enhances the impression of the floating seat and lets the bench to expand (by adding other benches horizontaly or verticaly and custom finnishing the planks accordingly) to a continuous urban furniture creating urban living rooms.
Opap
This project is a proposition for the reception and the cashier's desk of a small lotery shop. The main problems were the lack of space and budget. So the proposed design tries to maximize the use of space with extra storage space while keeping the working sits comfortable for two persons. The whole furniture is made out of plywood sheets and all the surfaces are designed in order to be cut out of a few sheets.
